Jacqueline Jones

Jacqueline Jones is former president and CEO of the Foundation for Child Development, which supports research, policy, and advocacy to advance the learning and development of young children. She served as senior advisor on early learning to the Secretary of Education and as the country’s first deputy assistant secretary for policy and early learning in the US Department of Education.

Previously, she held positions in the New Jersey State Department of Education and at Educational Testing Service, where her work focused on documentation and assessment of young children’s learning. 

Dr. Jones has been a visiting professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a faculty member at the City University of New York. She is a graduate of Hunter College and earned a master’s degree and Ph.D. in communication science and disorders from Northwestern University.
